On the coming 24th and 31st of August, summer films return to Santiago de Compostela historic center thanks to Curtocircuito – International Film Festival with a new edition of our renowned Noites Curtas, two free outdoor sessions where we will screen a special selection.
Both programs will showcase Galician and international works, with a focus on one of this year’s highlights, filmmaker Adrián Canoura, whose last film O Porco e o seu espírito will be screened in October within our Planeta GZ section. As a warm up four video clips made for bands like Guerrera, Baiuca and Nistra (of which he is part with Anxo Rodríguez) will be presented. We keeps on promoting new Galician talents and deepening in the multidisciplinary perspective characteristic of our current stage.
This week the first screening will take place in Praterías square and, the last night of August, Praza da Quintana will be hosting films such as award-winning Decorado directed by Alberto Vázquez, internationally acknowledged with more than twenty awards, and winner of the Goya award for the best animation short film; also the winner of last edition’s Penínsulas Award, Chema García Ibarra’s La disco resplandece. Over by Jan Saska (Czech Republic), Aliens by Jiajie Yu Yan (Spain) and Deep Blue by Joe Nankin (USA) are some of the films that will be shown. Both sessions will start at 10.00pm.
In case of unfavorable weather conditions the festival we will announce an alternative location for the screening.
